WATERCOLOUR PAINTING WORKSHOP WITH ANNE

What a great morning learning with Anne's workshop on watercolour painting.  We all managed to produce a landscape picture and really enjoyed the experience.  Lots of fun and chatting and for most it was our first experience of watercolour painting. Hopefully this will lead to a new hobby for some of our ladies.  Thank you Anne for such a great morning.

TALK ON ST KILDA BY BOB ROGERS

It was really fantastic to welcome Bob to give us a talk on St Kilda today.  It was interesting to hear all about their lives and how simple their existence was.  There was no crime on the Islands, no greed and no money, everybody just did their best for all the Islanders until they could not carry on supporting themselves in 1930.  They were then transported to several parts of Scotland and did not return to the Island.  The last person to live on the Island from that community died 6 years ago.  The end of a way of life, hard but simple.

ANNUAL MEETING & BOBBY VAN VISIT

After our Annual Meeting, Will from the Bobby Van came and gave us an excellent talk on security in the home.  He gave us all kinds of interesting ideas and things to keep us safe.  He also gave us information about staying safe online. Anybody over 60 years old can invite the Bobby Van to their home for an assessment of their needs and there are a lot of things free of charge to keep us safe.

TALK ON CHEESE AND CHEESE TASTING - BRINKWORTH DAIRY

What a fantastic meeting with Ceri from Brinkworth Dairy.  We learnt all about cheese and cheese making and how Brinkworth Dairy has changed and adapted to new situations.  We then had an opportunity to taste the cheese and it was delicious.  Thank you very much Ceri for a wonderful talk and tasting session.

CRAFT MORNING WITH TRUDA

Unfortunately Sue was not able to come and give us a talk on Upcycling/Recycling as she was ill, but I am hopeful she will be able to come along later in the year.

Thank you very much to Truda for organising and sorting out a Craft Morning at very short notice.  Unfortunately I was not able to attend but I understand it went extremely well and the ladies made some lovely things.  Thanks also to Bobby for helping out and everybody else who made this morning a success.

They have a Website - Chippenham Men's Shed CIO with all the information about their club.  Thank you very much for coming along to meet out ladies and some gentlemen who were invited to the meeting.

Thank you so much for Kington Langley Croquet Club, we had a wonderful session of Croquet at the beginning of September and even the weather stayed dry!  There were eight ladies who played and really enjoyed the experience and one or two of us who just watched.  Afterwards Cynithia provided cream teas in a special box with cream and jam and a cup of tea - perfect.......
